Energy Justice Programme
People's Dialogue on Human Settlements encourages a change of behaviours from the use of unimproved stoves and fuels to clean stoves and fuels to reduce indoor air pollution from wood fuel, improve livelihoods of women and children and reduce deforestation.
An initiative of People's Dialogue on Human Settlements
Overview of the project
This programme is looking at shifting behaviours from the use of unimproved stoves and fuels to clean stoves and fuels. The programme also uses the savings scheme approach to distribute clean stoves and fuels. The business model is hinged on identified sales agents within communities who are already trading to advocate, market and sell these stoves as if they are part of the stock of things they already sell. Nine (9) communities within the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area have already being identified for the piloting. More than 600 households have benefitted already from this initiative.Reduce indoor air pollution from wood fuel, improve livelihoods of women and children, reduce deforestation.
