Overview of the project
This Innov-ReC project initiated by MFC Nyetaa aims to help improve the socio-economic and environmental situation of the Malian population, which is faced with the problems of climate change, conflict and poverty. To alleviate this situation, MFC, with the support of its technical and financial partners, has set up Local Resource Centres (LRCs), equipped with appropriate tools based on ICTs and local skills, to promote green jobs, social cohesion and climate justice. The Local Resource Centres (LRCs) reinforce proximity by taking the project’s actions to their respective territories and adapting them to the situation. The project places a strong emphasis on environmental education and support for green entrepreneurship in order to promote peace and social cohesion.

The Innov-ReC project is helping to
– Creating 1,500 green jobs ;
– 145 ecological and climate change resilient initiatives supported;
– 50 initiatives capitalised on, including 15 award-winning innovative projects;
– 10,000 schoolchildren educated and 600 journalists trained on the harmful effects of climate change
– 70 awareness-raising campaigns
In implementing the project, the qualitative results have focused on improving people’s living conditions thanks to the initiatives supported, which have helped to strengthen digital skills and create green jobs. The democratisation of information in the agro-ecological field, changing attitudes to the use of pesticides, access to information on climate issues for producers and the media. It has improved the flow of basic education in relation to environmental education. Thanks to the project’s gender policy, women have been involved in local economic development and in the fight against the harmful effects of climate change.
