Resilient housing

B-vitré Conception, is a freelance company that I founded in August 2020, based on the design of plans, buildings, fittings, as well as flyers.

An initiative of B-vitré

Overview of the project

Especially as we reach the edge of an ecosystem depleted by our way of life and the use we make of our resources, it is important for us Africans to rethink our way of life. Indeed, the issue of waste management in Africa is worrying and alarming, given that some of our countries (particularly the Central African Republic) do not have the technical capacity or the appropriate facilities or disposal sites needed to dispose of the waste in question in an effective and environmentally-friendly manner.
It was against this backdrop that I came up with the idea of proposing a house made from plastic, earth, wood and metal waste in order to contribute to good waste management and reduce the consumption of materials in construction. And by pointing out that the building sector is one of the biggest emitters of CO2, it is imperative to find alternatives to limit CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.

Objective

The project aims to improve household resilience through this climate-resilient housing approach, and to meet the population's housing needs.

Quantitative results

Improving the environment and living conditions of the local population; contributing to job creation, developing renewable energies; promoting local materials; contributing to sustainable development.

Qualitative results

According to the World Bank (WB), more than 60% of Africa’s urban population now lives in shanty towns; however, 23% of the population of the Central African Republic lives in shanty towns. This project will make it easier for as many people as possible to gain access to decent, affordable housing.

Financing

Firstly, at the level of the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change), there are climate funds designed to support NAPAs (National Adaptation Programmes of Action), in particular the LDCF (LDCF). And with the support of the State.
