Tracing the evolution of the various international and regional initiatives of cities and regional governments, this analysis follows the advances made by local governments in the last year.
The Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy counts more than 10,000 signatory cities from across 6 continents and 138 countries.
This analysis looks at what were the dynamics of engagement of the signatories, and the major programmes implemented by the various regional conventions. What evolution of the reporting of their emissions by cities? What best practices from exemplary signatories?
Additionally, it also looks at certain initiatives of regional, state and other subnational governments.
