Climate Chance co-leads an engaging online discussion in the PCCB’s Capacity-building Momentum for Recovering Better event series
As a member of the Paris Committee on Capacity Building (PCCB) network, Climate Chance is co-leading an event with The Climate Group. The “World café discussion on virtual capacity-building: Do´s, don´ts, and doubts” will take place on November 11th from 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.(CET).
Climate Chance’s role in the Paris Committee on Capacity Building (PCCB)
Climate Chance joined the PCCB network earlier this year as it is a unique way to assemble interested stakeholders engaged in climate-related capacity-building. In the absence of a Capacity-building Hub this year at the annual Conference of the Parties (COP), due to the global sanitary crisis, the PCCB has transformed the face-to-face event into an online series of discussions in order to help maintain momentum on capacity-building. Also known as the “Capacity-Building Momentum for Recovering Better”, this online series gives the opportunity to members of the PCCB network to share experiences, exchange knowledge and address major challenges in capacity building today.
Every Wednesday in November (4, 11, 18, 25) will welcome a PCCB online event, organised by members of the network and their partners.
An opportunity to release the Outcomes of the Climate Chance Association’s first round of Virtual Workshops
In collaboration with The Climate Group, Climate Chance will be organising a special online event focusing on capacity-building for in the virtual space. Undoubtedly, Climate Chance will share insights on how members of the Climate Chance community were mobilised and managed to pursue ongoing work within the African coalitions.
Climate Chance’s main event-related activity over the past 4 months has consisted in the organisation of a Series of Virtual Workshops, dedicated to the work of the African thematic coalitions. 12 virtual workshops were organised in total, with around 1,500 participants since July 2020.
Currently, Climate Chance is drafting a document on the outcomes of the First Round of Virtual Workshops. This document, that will be presented during the online event, will put into perspective the major trends that were highlighted by members of each thematic coalition and the impacts of the Covid-19 on each sector (adaptation and water, energy, circular economy, transport, climate finance, building and construction, education, sustainable cities, and agriculture).
Eight breakout rooms will be formed to share experiences and reflect on new solutions for pursuing concrete capacity building initiatives in a world where face-to-face events are no longer the norm. Climate Chance will facilitate the discussion group on “How to sustain engagement in the virtual space over the long-term?” as well as another on “How do you drive change across an entire region?”.
