2024 Youth Adaptation Forums
The Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) is organising the 2024 Youth Adaptation Forums to collect good practice adaptation solutions from around the world, with a special focus on Africa, and influence adaptation policies which are related to the thematic priority areas which were identified in the Regional Youth Adaptation Forums.
The Knowledge and Power of Young People
By diving deeper into identified themes, the forums will mobilise young people to take and initiate adaptation action at a local level ahead of the Global Youth Adaptation Action Day 2024. The outcomes of the forums and the Global Youth Adaptation Action Day 2024 will be shared during COP29. The thematic Youth Adaptation Forums will:
- Boost global interest and knowledge of young people about climate adaptation
- Inspire young people to take climate adaptation action
- Spotlight young people’s priorities on adaptation for policy engagement and adaptation action

- Young Women Leadership for Adaptation: 8th March 2024 to mark the occasion of International Women’s Day
- Water: 22nd March 2024 to mark the occasion of International Water Day
- Climate-resilient Agriculture: 22nd April 2024 to mark the occasion of International Mother Earth Day
- Nature-based Solutions: 8th May 2024 to mark the occasion of International Day for Biological Diversity
- Youth Entrepreneurship, Adaptation Jobs and Finance: 15th July 2024 to mark the occasion of International Youth Skills Day
- Locally Led Adaptation: 12th August 2024 to mark the occasion of International Youth Day
