Daring Cities 2024
Daring Cities, co-convened by ICLEI and the Federal City of Bonn, is a global initiative for urban leaders taking on the climate emergency. In 2024, Daring Cities aims to serve as a pivotal platform for advancing multilevel and collective climate action.
Daring Cities, co-convened by ICLEI and the Federal City of Bonn, is a global initiative for urban leaders taking on the climate emergency. In 2024, Daring Cities aims to serve as a pivotal platform for advancing multilevel and collective climate action. They will explore a holistic and integrated approach to tackling the climate emergency, promoting leadership, knowledge exchange, and the implementation of ambitious climate strategies through a rich agenda of dialogues, workshops, and high-level roundtables throughout 2024.
Daring Cities 2024 will begin in March 2024 and will run events until August-September 2024 to reflect and exchange on the issues at hand.

Daring Cities 2024 proposes two events to reflect on the issues at hand:
Building on COP28 UAE Consensus: What’s next for urban leaders driving climate emergency action (Webinar)
This webinar will update the Daring Cities community, especially leaders, about the outcomes for local and regional governments of UNFCCC COP28, like the launch of the CHAMP Initiative, recognition of multilevel partnership in the negotiated outcomes, local and regional leaders in dialogue with high level national representatives, and subnationals prominently featured in the official proceedings of the event.

The Daring Cities 2024 Bonn Dialogues is an in person event where invited local and regional governments are discuss key challenges within their work towards successful multilevel dialogue and action.

Daring Cities Virtual Forum
The Daring Cities’ offer for local and regional government policy advisors, planning officials, national government policy advisors, and other technical experts throughout August and September 2024 consists of a series of virtual offerings and training workshops, focusing on the topics of food, nature (specifically the loss of biodiversity), and culture and integrating these topics into policy to address the climate emergency.
