“A sustainable urban future through inclusive and effective multilateralism: achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in times of global crises”
The UN-Habitat Assembly was established by the UN General Assembly (UNGA) in 2018 upon dissolution of the UN-Habitat Governing Council. The Assembly is a universal body composed of the 193 UN Member States. It convenes every four years.
The UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) will hold the second session of the UN-Habitat Assembly at UN-Habitat headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, from 5-9 June 2023, under the theme, “A sustainable urban future through inclusive and effective multilateralism: achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in times of global crises” With that theme, the 2nd UN-Habitat Assembly plans to adress the topics of the New Urban Agenda as well as Urban Governance.
