eMag #5: Going with the flow: Water resilience and climate adaptation in European cities and regions?
Alongside the degradation of wetlands and other water ecosystems, Europe is experiencing an increase in extreme climate phenomena: heavy rainfall, floods, droughts, etc. There is an urgent need to implement adaptation policies that integrate water management in urban areas within the EU regions and cities.
How are European cities and regions integrating questions of water in climate adaptation actions? What role can Nature-based Solutions play in restoring water cycles?
As a partner event of the EU Green Week, this eMag aims to bring together different actors (policy makers, researchers, civil society, businesses and more) around the topic of water resilience in flood management in European cities and regions. The goal is to provide a space for exchange of experiences and best practices, to be better prepared to confront these extreme water-related disasters, while working with nature as an ally, and render the territories more resilient.
