ACT’50

Paris, France

Climate Chance is taking part in and partnering this event, which will be held on 3 December at Ground Control in Paris. Ronan Dantec will be taking part in the round table discussion on ‘Natural Risks: learning to live with them’.

Adaptation, Citizens, Transition for 2050

Anticipating global warming, reinventing in a positive way, finding solutions, taking the health parameter into account, involving citizens, making adaptation an opportunity to put the environment at the heart of developments… ACT50 is the first European event devoted to all the challenges and all the possible solutions for tackling the next 25 years. It will bring together experts, citizens, decision-makers, researchers, students and associations. Over the course of an entire day, and one exceptional evening, three key themes will be addressed, in order to cover every aspect of these major issues :

  • Preparing for the consequences of global warming in all areas, while continuing to increase decarbonisation and better managing our relationship with the environment.
  • Take concrete action on the ground, adopting a local approach to take account of specific local characteristics and social issues.
  • Involve the public in all the discussions, because success can only be achieved collectively.

3 interconnected areas for dialogue, exchange and debate

Open to local authorities, businesses, experts, decision-makers, the general public and schools, ACT50 will offer three interconnected areas for dialogue, exchange and debate:

  • France, Europe, the World : throughout the day, there will be debates, presentations and discussions with key players in each field, to gain a better understanding of the problems associated with global warming, as well as possible solutions.
  • Thinking and acting locally : in a dedicated area, regions, cities, local authorities, experts and businesses will be highlighting their issues and practical solutions for limiting the consequences of global warming at local level. Workshops, demonstrations and debates will be held here to share best practice.
  • The Agora : open to the general public, associations, students and schools, this area will be devoted to civic dialogue. Throughout the day, there will be workshops, discussion forums on specific topics (how to adapt my home, how to get involved in my street, should I leave the city, etc.) and meetings with students and associations.
