Buildings and Climate Global Forum

Climate Chance, a member of the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (Global ABC), is a partner of the event and will be present at the Forum on March 7.
Co-organised by France and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), with the support of the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GlobalABC), the forum takes place on March 7 and 8, 2024 in Paris. A unique opportunity to discuss the decarbonisation and resilience of buildings.

The association, a member of the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GlobalABC), is a partner of the event and will be taking part in the Forum on March 7.
This is an opportunity for Climate Chance to continue its advocacy work, which is widely supported by non-state actors, and which was carried out at its last two annual summits in Africa and Europe, with the Yaoundé Roadmap for Sustainable Habitat and the Liège Declaration on Adaptation to Climate Change.
Climate Chance’s Participation
With UN Habitat, Climate Chance is co-organising a round table during Session 1, « From Local Roots to Globoal Impacts: exploring the role of local governments in effective multilevel governance to decarbonise buildings», bringing together local leaders to highlight their commitment to decarbonising buildings, drawing on international cooperation. Notably, Ronan Dantec, President of Climate Chance Association, is a speaker at this roundtable.

The Presence of Patricia Tomaïno Ndam Njoya
Patricia Tomaïno Ndam Njoya, mayor of Fumban, Cameroon and representative of the Association Communes et Villes Unie du Cameroun (CVUC), is also present at the Forum.
She is taking part in the round table co-organised by Climate Chance and UN Habitat, « From Local Roots to Globoal Impacts: exploring the role of local governments in effective multilevel governance to decarbonise buildings». She advocates for the Yaoundé Roadmap for Sustainable Habitat.

Patricia Tomaïno Ndam Njoya is also a speaker at the ministerial meeting, bringing together around 70 housing ministries from around the world. She is the only non-state actor present at the meeting, and reports on the discussions of the local government round table from the previous day. In addition, she presents the « Outcome Document of the Local Leaders Roundtable on Decarbonizing Buildings», gathering calls from local governments for better international cooperation, and support from national governments to local governments in terms of financial and technical capacity to accelerate action on building decarbonisation.
