The new Observatory Briefings in 2023-2024

In-person or online, France

With the Observatory Briefings, Climate Chance offers all decision-makers, journalists, students and stakeholders in the climate and biodiversity community expert insights from the 2023 Global Climate Action Report by Sector.

The Observatory’s Briefings: An expert analysis of the Global Synthesis Report on Climate Action 2023 for target audiences

For the past five years, the Climate Chance Observatory has published its flagship report, the Global Synthesis Report on Climate Action by Sector, which presents an overview of the actions taken each year by businesses, local authorities and civil society to reduce their emissions and adapt to climate change in the energy, transport, buildings, industry, waste and land use sectors. This sixth edition of the Global Stocktake of collective progress under the Paris Agreement examines the strategies of businesses, local governments and civil society to drive climate action since 2015.

  • What is it?

Since 2023, the Observatory showcases this unique summary for decision-makers with the Observatory Briefings. The idea is to share expert insights on the reality of the evolution of greenhouse gas emissions and the impact on this trajectory of concrete actions carried out at local level. The Observatory’s Briefings highlight the trends in climate action over the past year, emerging signals and remarkable initiatives that help identify the most effective levers for moving towards a low-carbon society, with insights tailored to your audiences: decision-makers, journalists, students, etc. You can benefit from more thematic analyses according to the subjects and sectors that interest you.

…and in practice?
The 2023 Briefings Sessions led by the Observatory are 30 minutes to 1 hour long, including time for discussions, and can be held online or in person, from January to March.

A number of Briefings are already scheduled to take place in the coming months
