Conference on adaptation to climate change
Paris, France
A few days after COP29 for the Climate, Comité 21 is organising a conference to highlight the role of public and private players in the regions in adapting to climate change, and to explore the difficult issue of financing adaptation..
An event organised by Comité 21 in partnership with the UN Global Compact – France Network and Climate Chance
It is at a local level that the impacts of climate change are felt, and that decisions are taken to initiate genuine transformations towards sustainability. However, because of their specific geographical, cultural and political characteristics, not all regions are equally prepared to deal with climate change and implement adaptation strategies.
A few days after COP 29 for the Climate, Comité 21 is organising a conference that will provide an opportunity to highlight the role of public and private players in the regions. It will take stock of their maturity, questioning the often fragmented approach to the subject of adaptation to climate change, and explore the difficult issue of financing adaptation, seen from an international perspective.
This event, which will mark the culmination of six years of activity by Comité 21 on the subject of adaptation (launch of the programme in 2018, symposium at the French National Assembly in February 2020, several publications that can be consulted online, a series of webinars and training courses), will give the floor to key players in the field of adaptation, both public and private. It will also provide an opportunity to launch a civil society manifesto on adaptation.
