Side-event on the Pavillon of Francophonie to present the results of the 4th Climate Chance Summit Africa which took place in Dakar from the 4th to the 6th of October 2022.
Side event: “Converging the three international agendas for a strengthened and inclusive non-state climate action. Back to the Climate Chance Summit Africa 2022”
The Dakar Declaration is the result of a collaborative work led by non-state actors of the African continent through twenty thematic workshops organized around the main sectors of climate and biodiversity action. It defines the priorities for action in the coming years in order to accelerate the implementation of climate and biodiversity projects in Africa.
This event aims to give voice to the stakeholders of the Climate Chance Summit Africa (SCCA) 2022 in order to present the main priorities of the African non-state community, including four set the pace for the exchanges between the speakers:
- The reaffirmation of the need for gender-responsive climate and biodiversity public policies;
- The convergence of climate, biodiversity and desertification agendas;
- The strengthening of local action and local governments and ;
- Access to finance for all actors in the territory via more flexibility for « small » actors.
