Training and research in sustainable urban mobility
Description :
While urban mobility projects are on the rise in African cities and metropolises, there are still few training and research programs on sustainable urban mobility in Africa. In light of this deficiency, it is necessary to identify the needs at different levels, in order to train both managers and technicians through long-term programs. This session will review the efforts made recently by several institutions to survey existing training programs on the continent, the efforts required to meet the challenges of mobility in African cities, and examples of innovative training and research projects (off-site campuses, remote training, customized training), carried out by various types of stakeholders (universities, companies, networks, multilateral projects, etc.).
