Climate Chance Europe Africa 2025 Summit

Health and adaptation: the One Health approach

Description

Health is a cross-cutting issue that affects multiple sectors, including food security, access to healthcare, urban planning, and social inequalities. The “One Health” approach provides an integrated vision of health, considering the interdependencies between human, animal, and ecosystem health.

Urban planning, architecture, and modern lifestyles directly influence both our health and well-being, as well as the health of our environment.

This workshop will bring together experts from France, Europe, and Africa, highlighting the crucial role of local governance, supported by national policies. At this level, the determinants of health must be addressed, taking local needs and specificities into account.

The goal is to explore how health can serve as a driver for sustainable urban planning and identify initiatives and actions across France, Europe, and Africa to integrate health into territorial development projects.
