The Future of Ocean: Navigating Warming Seas
Description
The ocean has absorbed over 90% of the excess heat in the climate system so far. By 2100, it could take in up to seven times more.
These changes are disrupting marine species across the board. Fisheries and aquaculture rely heavily on natural resources. Certain factors of degradation are intensifying or combining with the effects of climate change on freshwater, coastal, and marine ecosystems. How can we support this sector in such a pressured environment? What partnerships are needed to preserve resources and reduce strain on marine ecosystems?
