Climate Chance Europe Africa 2025 Summit

Weather and climate: How can we make science more useful for adaptation?

Description

Climate disruptions are increasingly evident through extreme weather events. With a 1.1°C increase in global temperatures (2025 estimate), we are already witnessing severe impacts on the climate system: heatwaves, more intense rainfall, and other effects that will continue to grow in the future.

We are approaching a 1.5°C increase by 2030. What is the understanding of the phenomena beyond this limit? How can this knowledge be communicated effectively within societies? How can we anticipate and act based on science in a context of “fake news”?
