University of Bristol – Presentation from the Observatory “‘Africa’s renewable energy landscape”
This presentation takes place during a workshop "Eco-technologies and Knowledge Transfer in the Global South", organised by the University of Bristol (Centre for Global Law and Innovation (CGLI), Centre for International Law).
During the workshop, an hybrid event, Mélaine Assè-Wassa Sama, Project Officer for Climate Action in Africa and Tania Martha Thomas, Research Officer, Climate Chance, will present an ‘Africa’s renewable energy landscape: Evolution and perspectives from the ground’.
Ensuring access to energy while also expanding renewable generation is one of the challenges of the African continent. The continent has significant potential for renewable energy generation, but there are questions about the tools, mechanisms, and laws being used to incorporate these sources into the energy mix.
This presentation will explore the difficulties and opportunities faced by local actors, based on the Observatory’s work and analyses.
